Garmin Nuvi 255 Review
The Garmin Nuvi 255 is designed as a basic, no-frills Sat Nav and we find that it offers much more. With excellent route finding technology, this sat nav takes you where you need to go without any complications.
This Sat Nav is dead easy to set up and is out of the box and working in more or less no time at all. Punching in your destination takes all of a few seconds and it finds its position easily. The screen is a nice size and there is even a widescreen option available which is even easier to read. The system comes with a nice lot of points of interest; probably the most extensive of any Sat Nav I have seen.
If you are travelling around then this is the Sat Nav for you. The basic Garmin Nuvi 255 comes with all european maps already uploaded which means that you can drive straight through europe without having to update your system. If, however, you do want to update the system then it is a very simple task of using the cable provided.
The system even contains information on speed camera locations (if you are so inclined) and can be taken out of the car easily with its Lithium-Ion battery which lasts a good few hours. Its small enough to have in your pocket if you are in a town thats unfamiliar and you want to take it out on the street with you.
On top of this, the Sat Nav also boasts a host of other features such as picture viewing, currency conversion and other tools such as a calculator. They don’t seem like much but can be surprisingly useful seeing as you always have it in the car. Concerning having it in the car all the time; this Sat Nav is safer than ever thanks to an Anti-Theft system which we found very impressive and easy to use.
The only real problem we found with this Sat Nav was that some of the European maps were a little dated compared to their UK counterparts, but thanks to the update cable and the internet you should be able to update these if you so please.
In conclusion, this Sat Nav brands itself as no-frills but offers so much more. It is easy to use and best of all, comes at a No-Frills price.

This is a really excellent sat nav system. We have had it for a couple of years and can fully reccommend it.
